Ok, I have to admit, I have been blog neglectful... I actually love this little bog and there is a slight torture when I'm away from it for too long. But, I have news! No, I am not pregnant...hahaha!
On August 6th I had a meeting with a local Gallery here in the San Fernando Valley (CA). And! I got a show! Not only are they going to have my mixed-media work up for the month of October, but they have also requested my fabric pouches, prints (of my work) and the recycled bracelets I make. Those items, along with my paper mache snowmen and graffiti style ornaments (due to them in November) will remain in the gallery for sale until the Holidays. The Gallery has a Holiday Show that runs November -Decmeber. So, I have been working like a crazy person over here; along with my part-time job and all of the house projects are still going strong. I white-washed our fire-placed yesterday afternoon and ordered our new kitchen counter! Craziness...but I don't think I've ever been so happy to have so much work to get done. The good news is that I should have plenty to post in the coming months. Can you even believe that it is almost September.
In between paitnings I've been working hard to get fabric done. I have a large number of pouches to make and plenty of projects around the house I can use my decorated fabrics for.
Around the time I finished the fabric in the photo above, I started to feel "stuck." I remembered a finger painting I did last year from a piece of scrapook paper that I had. So I went digging through my paper stash for a little inspiration. Not only was this fun, to try and get these on fabric but it's a great color exercise.
