A few friends of mine have been talking about getting a garden going and sprouting their own beans and seeds..... I am not ready for that yet but I decided to start Spring with my own potted herbs. I grabbed a few basic herbs from Trader Joes and some plain clay pots (.89 cents at Michaels) and got creative with my tiny herb garden.
I started with a layer of acrylic craft paint (I like the brush strokes underneath).
Then I sprayed over each pot (and the saucers) with spray paint.
Next I embellished the top of each pot with decorative tape (this is everywhere right now)! There are so many wonderful colors and patters to choose from!
I then decided to seal each pot (and saucer) which also gave them a nice shine. I used shellac simply because we happened to have some in the garage.
Ready to plant my herbs!
Just about done!
...and Voila! some fun colorful little herbs for Spring!
Join me on Monday for my "4 Days of Easter Eggs" leading up to Good Friday!
